Tinolang Manok
Tinola is a perfect dish during rainy days. The soup itself will keep your body feeling warm because of the ginger in it. Plus, a study shows that chicken soup is a remedy for colds & flu. This chicken soup recipe is a complete dish and packed with benefits. It has protein coming from the chicken and vegetables that provide the vitamins that you need during rainy season.
One last thing. Tinolang Manok is so easy & simple to prepare and cook. You can actually have it in 35 minutes or less. So whenever I'm in a rush because the kids are already coming home from school, I always cook them Tinola and I never failed to get a grade of A+ from them.
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken (cut into pieces)
- 1 liter water
- 400g sliced chayote
- 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
- 2 small size onion (chopped)
- Ginger
- Chile leaves
- 2 pcs. chicken broth cubes
- Salt & pepper to taste
How to Cook Tinolang Manok:
- Igisa sa mainit na mantika ang sibuyas, bawang at luya.
- Ilagay ang manok. Haluin, takpan at hayaang maluto sa loob ng ilang minuto o hanggang sa maging light brown ito.
- Ibuhos ang tubig. Takpan at hayaang kumulo.
- Ilagay ang sayote, broth cubes, asin at paminta para sa pampalasa. Takpan hanggang sa maluto ang sayote.
- Huling ilagay ang chili leaves. Patayin ang apoy.
